The Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management and
Public Administration (IMPA) was established in 1982 as an Apex
Institute to impart training to a cross-section of government officials.
In 1986, the State Institute of Rural Development was merged with IMPA
and thus the J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and
Rural Development was registered as an autonomous body on September 4,
1986.
The Institute has its Main Campus at Maulana Azad Road, Srinagar and
Regional Centre at Vikas Bhawan, Jammu.
